Mmm, i think the libxml2 maintainer should have a big say in this, since
he would be the one to either tell us where libxml2 searches for it, or
modify libxml2 so that

There is no such thing as a debian-xml mailing list, nor any other list
with xml in his title, at least on :

http://www.debian.org/MailingLists/subscribe

So i suppose you mean nobody is responsible for it, and the gnome
packages maintainer are just responding go read the xml documentation
and write (a local ?) xml catalog yourself and that we should stop
complaining about this ?

This will never be solved then, unless someone (me maybe, but i know
nothing about xml, have no time, and cannot do a good job of it) decide
to implement the correct catalog.

I think it is the responsability to all the people who care for gnome 2
(the subscribers of this list) to solve this problem, as it is affecting
gnome, and unless it is solved, gnome2 will _not_ be releasable, even if
the maintainers simply close all the bugs filled against them.
