Re: Sawfish2: '2' Suffix

This is probably going to sound a harsh, but as a user of GNOME, and
assuming that the idea is to release (woody+1) with GNOME 2.x and not
GNOME 1.x, I'd vote for putting GNOME 2.x in unstable without using foo2
style names. That will make the easiest automatic upgrade *when unstable
is released*, without having to mess around with dummy upgrade packages.
It's probably a good idea to keep stuff out of testing, so you might
want to file RC bugs against the packages.

For all of you who don't want to upgrade to GNOME 2, the answer is easy:
don't run unstable[1]. Unstable is *exactly* for this kind of stuff -
not inherently broken, but not ready for wide dissemination to *user*
machines.

Now, if the intent is to support the GNOME 1.4 desktop in a future
release, yes, then you need to go to foo2 style names, and expect to be
stuck with them for life.

Of course, you're the maintainer of these packages, and can do whatever
you want. But don't get too caught up in some illusory need to keep
unstable stable...

Steve, who is running the packages in experimental on his home machine,
and has no intention of switching back.
