Well, the idea being that since it is only free space they sponsor, it
doesn't cost them anything, and you could argue that the presence of
such an official hacking area will increase the overall attractiveness
of the presentation, not sure if they care about that though.

Maybe a solution where we discuss this with them, search for a sponsor
of said hacking area, and if it fails, and the space is going to be free
anyway, ask them to sponsor it.
