Re: [Reopen][Solved] Re: Post installation network problem

Hi Petter,

with a unchanged etc/bind/named.conf.options:

root@tjener:~# host vg.no 8.8.8.8
Using domain server:
Name: 8.8.8.8
Address: 8.8.8.8#53
Aliases:

vg.no has address 195.88.55.16
vg.no has address 195.88.54.16
vg.no has IPv6 address 2001:67c:21e0::16
vg.no mail is handled by 10 ALT4.ASPMX.L.GOOGLE.COM.
vg.no mail is handled by 5 ALT1.ASPMX.L.GOOGLE.COM.
vg.no mail is handled by 1 ASPMX.L.GOOGLE.COM.
vg.no mail is handled by 5 ALT2.ASPMX.L.GOOGLE.COM.
vg.no mail is handled by 10 ALT3.ASPMX.L.GOOGLE.COM.

Petter Reinholdtsen:
[Frank Weißer]
I tried that with 10.0.0.1, 185.150.99.255 and, to go safe, 8.8.8.8
No effect. My ISP (ewetel) doesn't tell anything about DNS's.

How did you test this? Did you remember to reload bind after each
change?

Shure, I even rebootet tjener to be save

On tjener I edited etc/bind/named.conf.options
root@tjener:~# vi /etc/bind/named.conf.options
forwarders {
        8.8.8.8;
};

restarted tjener
and did

root@tjener:~# ping -c1 debian.org
ping: debian.org: Der Name oder der Dienst ist nicht bekannt

Is for example 'host vg.no 8.8.8.8' working on the main server?

with a unchanged/changed etc/bind/named.conf.options: same result

So my approach would be to get the named three DNS's in
/etc/resolv.conf, but I have no idea where to force that.

This approach would not work, as the requried DNS entries provied by the
main server would not be resolvable on the external DNS servers.

O.k.

So I have no further idea, except the
DNS-Rebind-Protektion of the FRITZ!Box. It allows to enter exceptions, but entering tjener.intern and webcache.intern there doesn't change anything.

Kind regards

readU
Frank
