I use have a G550 that works fine with the drivers in XFree86 >= 4.2.
There are some small issues with the DVI-output, but it's basically 
working and the issues are the same with both the drivers in XFree86 and 
the drivers by Matrox (the drivers by Matrox are based on the drivers 
in XFree86).
