Upstream requested the libraries stay static, giving that as the
reason.  Upstream doesn't make the libraries shared and makes no
guarantees that the ABI will stay the same between even minor versions
of XF86.  If Debian were to ignore upstream in this, we'd have to
manage sonames, etc on our own.

Do they all use the same soname?  What do they do when the ABIs
change, as between XF86 4.0.2 and 4.0.3?
