It already exists in the Debian archive.  Moving it out of the Debian
infrastructure would cause all of the Red Hat problems: version
dependency issues, package conflicts, non-policy compliant packages,
and so on.

This has been said before, so I'm going to shut up now.


P.S. For these very pragmatic reasons, I object to the proposal.
