This was what I had in mind: A central Xvnc Debian server and all sort of
hosts in the local network can connect to it. The following advantages comes
to mind:

* platform independency, because vnc clients are thin and available for some
platforms (iincl. Java).

* free'ness. Are there *any* free X servers for Windoze? I want to promote
Debian in a small company and I got their file and print server, but no
workstation by now. It is a good way to let them play with Debian while
still having their dump Windows environment. Xwin32 and friends are just a
little too expensive for this.

* you don't have a bunch of Xvnc sessions running all the time.

Joey: The problem is that the viewer is a client, no server. Maybe we could
hack something out that does something like that what you described above.

I hope somebody has any ideas how to implement this, as I'm not experienced
enough in Network Setup.

Well, vnc is GPL'ed for exactly this reason. If it is missing an important
feature, we should try to implement it.

I already did something good for it: I applied patches for gziped font
support and I spend several hours to make vncserver configurable. At the
moment, I'm writing man pages (damn lintian ;) and then I will upload a new
version to *frozen*. I will fight for it !-)
