It can read them with rewriting; it can't rewrite them but you could
probably use a perl script or something to generate them on mail sent out
using rmail (and you don't need to use them at all with batch smtp)

No, because it doesn't conflict with uucp. It works if you use batched smtp
over uucp and even if it didn't, it doesn't actually conflict with it, in
that the uucp package itself will work just as well when you've got exim
installed.
