My sincerest appologies for sending my message to debian-user
instead of debian-devel.  I must have been a little caught up in
the moment and not paying close enough attention to what I typed
in the "CC" line.

I think it was a threat.  Ian basically said to leave the project if you
didn't do it his way.  What "his way" is and how much people agree or
disagree with it has no bearing on how he got his way.
