it's easier to "mark" the system accounts and leave everything else
alone (since other "user" entries, especially in distributed systems,
often come from sources like hesiod or NIS which you can't control...)
If you can't tell purely by uid, perhaps having the "real name" field
filled in with *SYSTEM* or *DEBIAN* or something like that...
