about https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=897577 libdbus-glib-1-dev seems still used, upstream should be contacted for possible changes?Yes, that is probably a good idea. Could you please do that?
Reported now in slack of cinnamon devs
- cjs: I suppose that a symbols check (and if needed improvements) is need to solves/avoid issue like this: https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=957089Hmm, there have been no symbols changes since the last version(s). What in particular were you thinking about?
the bug refer to cjs 4.4.0-4 that is the latest build, upload a
new build without symbols change don't should solves it FWIK, or
I'm wrong
- muffin: in commit https://salsa.debian.org/cinnamon-team/muffin/-/commit/07a7a05c860298592b51d9f820de7712315888ce I removed a configure parameter not needed anymore (Thanks.about the move of muffin-restart-helper done upstream, @norbert @maxy is good to do the same in debian or not? https://github.com/linuxmint/muffin/commit/4c9a40e83cf2fb9f32a19441e62a9234d769d285I am fine with muffing^Wmoving it, but I don't understand the comment in the upstream commit: The 'muffin' package isn't usually installed by default. What should that mean?
Muffin is not in deps of upstream cinnamon packages but only the
lib and gir ones (of muffin), in debian we have it in
cinnamon-core and we added also in cinnamon packages, so it will
be only to decrease "differences" and conflict with upstream
packages (and avoid hundreds or thousands of
reports like this in ubuntu:
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/cinnamon/+bug/1279762)
and I want ask to you and Maxy (as more experts) before do it (if
I can or is "not good")
