succeeded in driving my HD.

Comments/Problems:

This is the only boot disk I've found which has managed to pick up my
HD, so that's a good start. I had to make a minor fix to the iso -
isolinux.cfg had lots of pointers to kernels named 'linux', when it
meant 'vmlinuz'.

The mounting, partitioning and base install went smoothly (although I
was slightly confused by the skull-and-cross-bones symbol in the
partition table). It all falls apart at the reboot.

The kernel boots, but init fails. It says:

pivot_root: No such file or directory
  /sbin/init: 432: cannot open dev/console
Kernel panic: Attempted to kill init!

Good. Closing the bug report.

Not really. Try debian-user or debian-laptop list first and if you don't=20
get answers there, try contacting the X Strikeforce.
