In practice, it's hardly an onerous requirement. If all else fails, you
can always use GNU indent.

Years of working on a variety of projects have taught me to be very
relaxed about going with the prevailing style in whatever I'm editing,
and to accept that having some prevailing style is necessary for sanity.
I'd guess most proficient developers would have had the same experience.
