I asked Tollef to set up some kind of guidelines, and I had to ask him several times to get him to do it ;) I didn't want to do it as I'm not the project leader, but I don't want him flamed for doing what I asked him to. I have my opinions on coding style but I will accept whatever policy is mandated because I like having a consistent coding style. > On a practical note there are tools to convert from one style to another. I don't think Tollef is suggesting nailing our keyboards to the desk and removing the 'tab' key. Everybody is of course free to write in whatever arcane style they want, as long as the *checked in code* complies with the mandated coding style! I hope you will let me choose whether I want to write my code in the mandated coding style from scratch or do a conversion when I check in, and I'll give you the same courtesy. This applies to your "tabs are easier to type" argument too. If the mandated coding style requires four spaces, then simply convert when checking in! /Martin
