Whats the configuration option called for the support and whats the
name of the module and the devices that gets generated? How can I
autodetect the hardware? How does it show up in /proc/pci (or
somewhere else)?

I´m working on a live-fs system that boots with a minimal kernel and
then autodetects what modules to load. Currently I scan /proc/pci for
common stuff like ide or scsi controlers and test the appropriate
modules. If all else fails I plan to start modconf to ask the user for
his interaction, but that would still need the right modules to be
present.

May the Source be with you.
