It's not a question of the characters, it is a question what is
translated by DDTP (Debian Description Translation Project)[1]. As long
as a translation is there we can use this in the tasks pages. But
the propagation of these DDTP data seems to be broken currently. I have
to investigate this.

I personally regard this as a technical matter. If there are users who
want a translation I will try to care for it technically. It is not my
job to evaluate cultural or political issues.

This would be reasonable. I'm a real fan of the DDTP effort and I would
strongly suggest to use this as the default way to keep propagate
description translations.
Kind regards
Andreas.
