Just tried with 2.6 and it failed.  dhclient couldn't get an address. 
But the NIC driver installed just fine, as did af_packet.  It's the
strangest thing, tcpdump on the server doesn't show any packets coming
from the client at all, even though dhclient is sending stuff to
broadcast, with no other errors...

I'm not sure what's going on.  Normal sarge dhclient works with 2.6.0 on
my laptop...
