raid1? Isn't that the mirroring one? Yes, obviously, this doesn't need
any special support at all. For me "raid support" means RAID 0/5/6.

But you have to write grub on the mbr of both boot devices if you want to be able to reboot in case of a failure of one of the disks in the raid1
