We've been told that it doesn't install via chroot from amd64 system not from i386. For example try to install UT2003 via chroot from amd64 and from i386 livecd, and then try to run it on 64 bit system. Installer of UT2003 checks if kernel is for x86 and if not then it finishes with error.
