Re: General questions about debian-alpha...

you told me, here it comes:
kernel noname-udb doesn't work with multia: switches ethernet
interface without recognition of the correct one (used a readhat
kernel for now):
Jun 3 12:04:01 murphy kernel: eth0: enabling AUI port.
Jun 3 12:05:06 murphy kernel: eth0: enabling BNC port.
Jun 3 12:07:06 murphy kernel: eth0: enabling unknown type port.
Jun 3 12:09:06 murphy kernel: eth0: enabling 10baseT port.
the redhat kernel just says:
Jun 8 17:23:37 murphy kernel: eth0: media is EXT SIA.
base1_3.tgz seems to be libc5 while hamm ist libc6.
kernel-headers are missing, links in /usr/include go to kernel 2.0.32,
while 2.0.33 will be installed.
lynx is build against libslang 1.0, while 0.99 is installed. gives
error: symbol SLsmg_Newline_Behavior missing.
vim has a problem. output:
vi(114): unaligned trap at 00000001200597e4: 00000001201a72a4 27 1
cgi-modul in python 1.5 is missing.
xfntbase will not be forced by xbase.
postgresql can't be installed: says version-file would be missing.
two packages seem to be old but can't be removed: data-dumper libfd
msdostools missing. mkdosfs doesn compile out of the box. Mike Dorman
ported it but didn't give it back to the maintainer Roman Hodek. i am
in contact with roman now. so please if you read this send
me your changes or contact roman yourself. i would also like to port
the other tools (dosfsck...).
manpage doesn't work cause groff doesn't. says: groff: error in
loading shared libraries: undefined symbol: __get_eh_context (jgroff)
just some errors i found ;)
best regards,
michael
