If you need a stable system, use Stable :-).  Since we just released and
the doors are now open again for new software in unstable (which will
automatically propagate to testing eventually), expect a rather rough
ride in the next months.  If you are running unstable or testing, you
need to be prepared to fix things yourself, as you just did.
