Re: Updating w.d.o/{intro/organization#distribution,ports/}

Hi,

So, everyone who ever ran a buildd (atari, amiga, mac68k, and
zlin*/aranym), please please please get them booted, running,
up to date and building packages. Then I might divert time in
things like keeping our patches in src:gcc-4.6 again.

I would like to recommend that anyone who can set up a proper and up to date m68k Debian, ready to run buildd, please do so cleanly in an ARAnyM environment to help bootstrap everyone else. I'd be happy to host the disk image for anyone who wants to download it.

Furthermore, while I don't have time to do much work on Debian myself (I've been lurking for ages after finding out that installing a recent m68k Debian wasn't possible at that time), I now have a reasonably fast machine which can be dedicated to CPU intensive tasks. Namely, it'll be used for running several emulation environments for NetBSD pkgsrc building. Since I have eight real cores, I'd be happy to run an extra ARAnyM instance or two to be used to run buildd. If any developer would like a virtual m68k machine on which to work, I'd be happy to arrange that, too.

I am impressed and thankful at all the effort put into getting m68k Debian up to date. Thank you, everyone!

John Klos
