Well, for one the DebConf Videoteam has internal policies about adding new videoed slots. This BoF wasn't initially scheduled and we normally required to be notified at least 48h in advance of new talks, and reserve the right to say no anyway. Video streaming is hard on a technical level, but also needs volunteers and people to make stuff happen :) On a more personal level, I don't think having that talk recorded and streamed would have been a great idea. As I'm sure we all know by now, this issue is sensible and I'm sure a bunch of people wouldn't have felt free to talk if this had been videoed. I wasn't at DebConf this year, but if I had been, I wouldn't have participated in that BoF if it had been streamed.
