This is the second time in this thread that this aphorism has turned
up.  It's entirely wrong.  Technical solutions to social problems (and
mixed solutions with a strong technical component) are entirely
routine and often very effective.  The most obvious example is access
control and separation of space in its various forms (starting with
walls...)

Social problems exist in a practical (often, in modern society,
technical) context, and practical problems in a social context.
This one is no different.


But I don't think that _this_ problem is solved by the proposed
luminous lanyards.  They would deal with the difficulties faced by
photographers, but they are IMO an unacceptable imposition on the
photo-refuseniks.
