Yes, I realize this is non-trivial, but it looked like a useful idea to
ponder about :)

Before cvs update:
** WML:Verbose: Processing time (seconds):
** WML:Verbose: main | ipp mp4h epl gm4 div asub hfix hstr slic | TOTAL
** WML:Verbose: ---- | ---- ----- ----- ---- ---- ---- ---- ---- ---- | ------
** WML:Verbose: 0.11 | 0.13 1.86 0.28 0.04 0.02 0.02 0.10 0.09 0.20 | 2.85
After:
** WML:Verbose: Processing time (seconds):
** WML:Verbose: main | ipp mp4h epl gm4 div asub hfix hstr slic | TOTAL
** WML:Verbose: ---- | ---- ----- ----- ---- ---- ---- ---- ---- ---- | ------
** WML:Verbose: 0.14 | 0.17 1.37 0.28 0.07 0.06 0.03 0.13 0.17 0.21 | 2.63
~ 7% speed up is a good start, thanks :)
