To the system, after being handled by the USB Mass Storage driver, it is just another SCSI hard drive. You would not be afraid to create a filesystem on a regular hard drive, would you? Only problem I've experienced was, when I created /dev/sda1 on my iRiver music player and created a filesystem there, the firmware in it refused to see it. Deleting the partition and creating a filesystem on the whole /dev/sda fixed it. Both Windows and Linux worked with /dev/sda1 perfectly, hence it is a problem with the firmware. In general, if a piece of HW works in a different system and/or machine, it is probably a problem with your setup, not with the HW itself. j. -- __________________________________________________________________________ "We did a risk management review.
