Here is the current list of fonts on my system. ttf-indic-fonts install ttf-devanagari-fonts install ttf-bangla-fonts install ttf-bengali-fonts install ttf-gujarati-fonts install ttf-kannada-fonts install ttf-malayalam-fonts install ttf-oriya-fonts install ttf-punjabi-fonts install ttf-tamil-fonts install ttf-telugu-fonts install
i had a look at the dimensions of the corresponding packages: most of them are >1Mb and that size is doubled when font package is unpacked in RAM filesystem. Even if we remove unneded glyphs, won't all those fonts make the netinst cd grow up too much in size? and how will be the fonts retrived from the cd? will be fonts packages retrived all togheter or only the font needed for the installation in that particular language will be retrived? I suppose we will need udebs for chinese, japanese, korean, arabic, russian etc too.. Removing unneded glyphs from udeb packages should save up space, but if we can manage to make fontconfig to use glyphs from correct packages is this work still worth it? Here is an updated list of packages we should include in the netinst cd (sid, i386)
