ATI driver

Hello,

I don't know if here is the correct site to ask. In case it is not, please show me the proper steps to put my question.

I'm trying to install xfree for Debian SID with ATI driver. Everything goes successfully. However, I can only get one xvideo output with this driver; a new video window will result in X11 output, with lower performance. I have tried with a NVIDIA card and driver on another computer and there are several simultaneous xvideo output. More concretely, in a command console, when you write 'xvinfo' there is a parameter calles 'number of ports'.
In the case of a NVIDIA card/driver there is : number of ports:32
in the case of an ATI card/driver there is: number of ports: 1
Is there a way to configure xfree for ATI graphics card so that there are more than one xvideo output? I have recently talked to a friend who has SIS chipset with embedded (SIS) graphics card and it had more than one xvideo output

Thanks in advance,
Benjamin
