That is what I prefer, to.

Contents of the wiki:
Todo lists
Status of sub-projects
Status of main pages (eg what is in work, how will the structure be like)
Results from discussions in the mailing list
collections of ideas
...

The main pages need more work and are more static (with exeption of "what is new").

My Wiki is going online, so I can test some things.
As far as I know, there can be a master password and passwords for pages. To avoid Wiki-Spamming we should make use of that.

BTW: For visitors the existence of a wiki will have one more advantage: Even if the main pages do not change for a while, they may see, that d-w is working and growing.
