For this kind of subjects, it is important to really understand what is missing to make it happen. From what I gathered, it is a mix of lack of manpower and technical issues. A DPL can do little about technical issues, but can try to make a call for help if involved teams are okay with that. It could help to get the problem more visible and attract new people. A DPL can also encourage a multi-team sprint so that people are gathered and can at least work out a plan. We were also discussing how to onboard new contributors. I believe PPAs could do a perfect subject for an internship as it helps the applicant to better understand Debian's internals and meet several teams. Regards, -- Mehdi
