I think you just did not want to read the documentation before trying it.

After I was reading about systemd for almost an year, I decided to try it.
No issues. See also my previous post

I would love it, if some detailed Books were published on systemd.  I would happily purchase books like "SystemD for Dummies", "The SystemD Bible", or "SystemD in a Nutshell". But Google still shows a blank on any of these.
