I doubt it.

I've been following along with your problems, and I surmise it's your
system that's the problem.  Although, I have no idea what it might
be.  My Wheezy[1] system works just fine with Chrome even though it's
been unsupport for months, iceweasal (originally installed by
default -- now purged), firefox-release (from the mozilla.debian repo
-- now purged, repo removed), and firefox-esr (from the Debian Security
repo). No problems. Ever.  Not with PayPal or other sites like my
banks or youtube or tv streaming.  All worked just fine, and
exactly the way they should.

Anyway, glad you were able to get things to work to your satisfaction.

1. My Wheezy 64-bit is a very custom install.  Started with a
terminal-based system, and added what I wanted one thing at a time.
Never been a desktop GUI/Environment on it along with the related crap.
Just one window manager, Openbox. I even wrote my own udev rules to
auto-mount USB drives and my smartphone.
