Ah, nice catch... "--reinstall". I've used that *in desperate moments*
of things not gelling together. I never had problems with it, but I
can't say that I ever used it on apt.

My *uneducated a-sumption* has always been it's just digging back into
the .deb file and.... reinstalling by poking around over top of what
had previously been an attempted install. I've envisioned its purpose
to be filling any accidental file related holes that might have
occurred for any reason.

Your mention of that reminded me of "--fix-missing", also, which I've
used on occasion. Whether or not it ever helped, I don't know.
Computer's running, but ti's been a LONG time (like whole weeks, ok,
months) since I've needed either.

Just thinking out loud because something someone else said sparked
some gray matter activity..
