Windows was no problem at all for the printer i have.

i find CUPS to be excruciating to set up.

Time to give it another try since it's so darn easy. Who knew ?

no argument with that. once it's working it's great.  but that's my experience with linux in general. sometimes it's just damn painful to get something to work. you see, i remember the good old days when you had to futz with x-config files and actually tweak those modelines :-)

once it's working, you're golden !
