I'm fully in agreement, and am also a KDE adherent.

However, I think Gnome <spit> is the most popular DE, which is probably
why the installer selects it by default. Which, in turn makes it the
most popular <sigh>.

Anyway, I think the installer should offer *all* the DEs.
