Thought so. Why was that even offered? I had replaced it previously with the 
proper domain so did so again.

Now, if I simply send to a user, the mail will be delivered.
If I simply send to "root," it gets correctly aliased over to 
"system_notifications," but then gets returned!

So original problem remains !?!
