If there was something to symlink to (and there isn't).

Right... so he installs a more complete icon set that has icons for Word
Processor (or whatever it was that is not represented in Nuvola), and
then links to it.
Even though that icon would be used anyway because Nuvola doesn't have
an icon for that category/application....
Redundant much??

Or maybe you're suggesting he should laboriously find out which
applications and categories his system uses that are not in the Nuvola
set, then install individual icons and link them to... oh wait, he'd
have to individually create .desktop files for each application or add
them to the theme.
Nope, I don't think that method will work either.


Why reinvent the wheel? His system already uses the GNOME icon set when
his chosen one misses the icon, just replace GNOME default with
something less fugly as the fallback then ensure Nuvola is the default.
1, 2, done. No need to make links from fugly icons to icons that have to
be found and installed.
