You can link synaptic_icon -> web_browser_icon or what ever does fit
better to synaptic ;). Important is only the link name, not the target
name.
$ touch some_flashy_icon.png
$ ln -s some_flashy_icon.png web_browser.png
$ ls -hAl
some_flashy_icon.png
web_browser.png -> some_flashy_icon.png
