Actually, probably NOT legal to distribute in the U.S., according to the
DMCA.  See

I have read the DMCA.  I have also read many of the court rulings
pertaining to it and to DVDCSS.  The DMCA anti-circumvention  provisions
are not nearly as broad as they are generally believed to be.


Yes, and I've run into this in another area. My attorney said I could be charged under the DMCA if I were to advertise or otherwise offer for distribution any hardware or software which does not conform to the DMCA.

Thanks, but I'll believe my attorney over a layman. After all, that's what I pay him for. I might suggest you talk to an attorney familiar with DMCA, also.
