I did not find any doc for setting efi boot that did not suppose boot
was done on /dev/sda...

Would using grub-install /dev/sdb
then |efibootmgr -c -d /dev/sdb -l "\\EFI\\debian\\grubx64.efi" -L
"Debian GNU/Linux"

work ?
