No not really.

Imagine lady with kids in car and she wants to park to quickly get some
shopping, she can't be bothered looking for park, so she illegally
parks. One of her kids says "Hey mum you can't park here its dangerous."
So she turns the blinkers/hazard lights on.

Now correlate that to marking post as [OT] (turning blinkers on) versus
looking for legal park (posting to off topic list, googling for correct
list, asking etc ...)
