That was the original setup and it didn't work. That's not how I read it since you mentioned something about "DHCP forwarding". I was suggesting to turn your AP in a "switch", that doesn't deal with the IP protocol at all. I have experimented with DebWRT and others, but you might want to discuss this in a different thread.
