Isn't it supported by 285.0509 	(October 5, 2011):-

Perhaps try that.

Have you tried editing the build script?

I know there's an xorg incompatability with the legacy driver (hence my
query above - as I suspect you don't need the legacy driver for your card).

People are getting nvidia proprietary drivers to build with linux-kernel-3.0
