text2wave will probably do the job (part of festy).

I just want the title of the disk read! ;-p

eg.:-
1. put CD/DVD in drive
2. program reads volume label, announces "K3B data project"
3. I wish I'd put better labels on disk

Thanks for the suggestions.
NOTE: Festival is a festy beast, espeak is smaller and simpler.
Better is for me to write clearly on the label, or print a label. I
really don't have anything to complain about.
