I have many computers running lenny with no problems at all. All devices
are properly detected and configured.

As per the NIC cards in use, I can tell you the chipsets:

00:19.0 Ethernet controller: Intel Corporation 82566DM-2 Gigabit Network Connection (rev 02)
04:00.0 Ethernet controller: Intel Corporation 82573L Gigabit Ethernet Controller
06:01.0 Ethernet controller: Intel Corporation 82541GI Gigabit Ethernet Controller (rev 05)
05:00.0 Ethernet controller: Realtek Semiconductor Co., Ltd. RTL-8169 Gigabit Ethernet (rev 10)
02:0b.0 Ethernet controller: Marvell Technology Group Ltd. 88E8001 Gigabit Ethernet Controller (rev 13)

I uploaded this info to the HCL so other users can benefit from it:
