That's true, assuming no request otherwise.  However, it is both accepted 
protocol and *polite* to acquiesce to such simple requests as including the 
original poster on a CC line.

Multiple times in the mailing list documentation, the reader is told that 
simply requesting a CC is sufficient to receive replies.

Some people don't need the 100s of messages the list gets a day, and may have 
limited web access.
