I'm using WDM and I find it pretty lightweight. I'm not sure if it can
handle autologin or not, though.
WDM is way faster than GDM on my P3 laptop with 256MB RAM. I run
Fluxbox for my window manager and I like it a lot, although LXDE looks
tempting.
