so neither testing has up-to-date security, neither does sid? sorry if i misunderstood

In general, the Testing (squeeze) or Unstable (sid) branch are
suggested for desktop usage, unless you need the stability (in the
sense of non-changing) of stable.

Personally, I use Sid on my desktop workstations.
