My point being that for him to drop those 100's of lines into a function and be able to make it a one line function call, those 100's of lines of code still have to be produced. The thing with higher level languages, libraries, etc. is those 100's or 1000's of lines of code are all still there but someone else has done the grunt work, and we get a nice easy way to make use of it.
